I'm a typical girl in the sense that I like to shop. They say you can tell a lot about a person in the way she shops. When I'm in a store, my eyes are constantly roaming about searching for clothes that give off an impression. And when I chance upon clothing that I like, I don't hesitate to grab it and march it straight to the cashier. No second thoughts, no going back, no regrets. If I like it enough, I want it. When I want it, I simply get it.

I have friends that take forever to do their shopping. They see an outfit, look at the price, move to the next set of clothing, go back to the first outfit they liked off the bat, roam around the store some more, then finally end up going back to where they first started to buy it. Several stores later, they see something else they like, and end up regretting buying their prior purchase, just because they see something else better than what they bought.

Well of course, there will always be something better, something nicer, more expensive. There will always be something newer, something trendier, something more people will like.

The trick is in staying comfortable with what you've got, sticking by the choices and decisions you made. Making do with what you have. Besides, it's not the clothes that make the woman. It's the woman who carries off the clothes she wears. How she projects herself, the confidence she exhudes even if all she's wearing is a potato sack.

Below are some photos of my walk-in-closet in my master bedroom. It's pretty large, roomy, with lots of space for more. Once upon a time I owned a lot more clothes, but somehow when I got married, I just didn't have as many.

Perhaps it had to do with me giving or throwing away clothes that I felt was no longer appropriate for a married woman, perhaps it was because during my marriage I didn't feel the need to buy new clothes all the time. There's that sense of complacency, I suppose, when you're married.
