When I was growing up, I couldn't get enough of books. I read stuff everywhere, anywhere. We had a tiny bookshelf that seemed to always be overflowing with books, paperwork, magazines, and other literature. Literally bulging. This love for books and my frustration while growing up with the tiny bookshelf made me want a library with a big ol' bookshelf.
As an adult, I got my wish. The custom bookshelf was designed by a local artist and the shelf materials were picked out by me and manufactured, fitted, and installed by a Las Vegas woodworking company.
There's still a lot of decorating to be done to this room, and I have future plans of putting in a piano in there, more seating arrangement, rugs, side tables, and wall art. Theme for this room will be French Victorian.
Some of my favorite things in the Library/Formal living room include:

Set of Chambers Encyclopedia from the 1800s.

Pressed flowers from Roan. "Purpose Driven Life" book given to me by my good friend, Larry Lim.

Poetry books from the early 1900s. Red ribbon from the bouquet of flowers given to me by Roan.
